LEISHMANIASIS TEGUMENTARIA AMERICANA EN EL ESTADO APURE, VENEZUELA

Resumen

Se presentan las características clínicas e histológicas de casos de
Leishmaniasis Tegumentaria Americana diagnosticados en el Servicio de
Dermatología Clínica del Hospital General "Dr. Pablo Acosta Ortiz" de San
Fernando de Apure, Venezuela. Se esbozan las características geográficas y
metereológicas de la zona en relación con la enfermedad. Nuestros resultados
resaltan la gran cantidad de parásitos encontradas en muchas de las lesiones, lo
cual no es habitual en los casos comunes de la enfermedad. Estos hallazgos
son similares a los descritos por otros autores en el Estado Lara, Venezuela.
ABSTRACT
Clinical and histological characteristics of American Tegumentary Leishmaniasis
cases at the Service of Clinical Dermatology of the general Hospital Dr. Pablo Acosta
Ortiz at San Fernando de Apure, Venezuela. Geographycal and Meteorologycal
caracteristics of the zone in relation to the illness, are briefly explained. Our results
remark the increased number of parasites found in many cases of lesions, which is not
current in this illness. These founds are agree to those reported by others investigators
at the Lara state, Venezuela.
