Resumen

La Leishmaniosis Tegumentario Americana (LTA) es
una enfermedad endémica en Venezuela, donde se
registran un promedio de 4000 cosos anuales.
Se hace un análisis retrospectivo de la consulta de
leishmaniosis del Instituto de Biomedicina (1982-1995),
encontrándose 82 cosos de niños, 63% quienes
correspondían al sexo femenino.
Se analizan las características clínicas, tiempo de
evolución y la respuesta terapéutica a modalidades de
Quimioterapia (Glucontime) e Inmunoterapia
(Promastigotes más BCG)

ABSTRACT
American Cutoneous Leishmaniasis (ACL) is an
endemic disease in Venezuela with an overoge oí 4000
coses per yeor.
A retrospective analysis oí the Leishmaniasis Outpatient
Clinic at the Institute oí Biomedicine is made (1982-
1995), finding 82 coses oí the disease in children, 63%
oí which correspond to females.
Clinical choracteristics, time oí evolution and response
to theropy in relation to chemotherapy (Glucontime(D)
and immunotheropy (Promastigotes plus BCG) ore
anolyzed.
