CÉLULAS DE LANGERHANS. LOS INMUNOCITOS VIAJEROS DE LA PIEL. LANGERHANS CELLS. THE SKIN TRAVELLING IMMUNOCYTES.

Resumen

Las células de Langerhans (CL) intervienen en la respuesta
inflamatoria de la piel, participando activamente en la fase de
inmunoestimulación de la respuesta inmunitaria mediante su
interacción con los linfocitos T, la cual ocurre en los órganos
linfoides secundarios. Cuando ocurre un insulto cutáneo, las CL al capturar el antígeno, maduran y migran rápidamente a los ganglios linfáticos acumulándose en la paracorteza. Una vez en el ganglio, participan en la fase de inmunestimulación de la respuesta inmunitaria al presentar antígeno a linfocitos T vírgenes, activándolos. Los linfocitos T activados migran y se anidan en la piel donde participan en la fase de retención y proliferación e interactúan con los queratinocitos y las células de Langerhans residentes a través de una serie de señales accesorias.
El presente trabajo realiza una actualización sobre la importante función de las CL con énfasis en su papel como inmunocito viajero involucrado en la fase inmunoestimuladora de la respuesta inmunitaria.

ABSTRACT
Langerhans cells (LC) mediate the inflammatory response in the skin through active participation in the immunoestimulary phase of the immune response, interacting with T lymphocytes. When injury occurs, LC capture the antigen and travel to the lymph nodes. Here, LC are involved in immunoestimulation, presenting the antigen to naive T lymphocytes, which are activated. Active T cells travel to the skin, where they play an important role in the retention and proliferation phases. Here, they interact with kerationocytes and LC through accessory signals.
The present review points out the importance of LC fuction,
outlining the role of travelling immunocyte involved in the
immunotimulatoty phase of the immune response.
