LAS CELULAS DENDRITICAS: POSIBLES APLICACIONES TERAPEUTICAS.

Resumen

La interacción entre el sistema inmune y las células tumorales o microorganismos es muy compleja, involucra una serie de tipos celulares y mediadores. Las células dentríticas juegan un papel fundamental en el desarrollo del sistema inmune, son las células presentadoras de antígeno profesionales más importantes en la activación de células Ten reposo y de linfocitos T vírgenes. Estas características señalan a las células dentríticas corno fundamentales para una respuesta inmune efectiva. Actualmente, estas células son el blanco para las vacunas génicas, con el objetivo de utilizarlas en inmunoterapia y para el desarrollo de vacunas.

ABSTRACT.
The interaction between tumor cells, microorganisms and the immune system is complex, involving a multitude of cell types and mediators. The dendritic cells play a crucial role in development of the immune system.
They are the professional antigen-presenting cells most efficient in the activation of resting T cells and are the major antigen presenting cells for activation of naive T cells. These characteristics point the dendritic cells as a key cell for the effectiveness of a immune response. Actually, these cells
are being the target for the genetic vaccinations, with the object of use them in immunotherapy and development of vaccines.
