CONSIDERACIONES SOBRE EL GRANULOMA VENEREO ANALISIS DE 130 CASOS

Resumen

El trabajo es un análisis de 130 casos de granuloma venéreo (96 hombres y 34
mujeres) estudiados en los últimos 10 años. Se hace referencia a algunos hechos
encontrados. En cinco mujeres se comprobaron ulceraciones de esta naturaleza en la
incisión de episiotomía efectuada una a tres semanas antes; los maridos resultaron sanos al
examen. Fue diagnosticada la enfermedad en región perianal, en diferentes grados de
extensión, en 28 pederastas pasivos. En 12 pacientes con lesiones peneanas y de hábitos
heterosexuales, el interrogatorio demostró que el último contacto lo habían tenido con
homosexuales. Cinco individuos con lesiones granulomatosas peneanas discretas y que
venían efectuando coitos normales frecuentes con sus compañeras de vida marital, no las
infectaron hasta que por motivo de haber salido embarazadas, decidieron cohabitar
anormalmente. En 13 pacientes mayores de 50 años, en los que la enfermedad tenía 6 meses
a 2 años de evolución, se comprobó la asociación con epiteliomas de tipo espinocelular.
Solamente una vez se observó la diseminación sistémica de la afección en una mujer de
unos 50 años de edad, quien murió a pesar de la variada e intensa terapia antibiótica. En 6
prostitutas, se evidenció Donovania granulomatis en material tomado del cervix uterino
aparentemente normal, dando así la impresión de que algunas mujeres jugarían el papel de
portadoras aparentemente sanas. Se fracasó en trasmitir la afección a 4 veteranas prostitutas
entre 40 y 42 años.

SUMMARY
The work deals with analysis of 130 cases of venereal granuloma (96 men and 34
women) studied during the last 10 years. Reference is made therin to the facts as
encountered.
In 15 women, ulcerations of this nature were verified at the site of the episiotomy,
practiced from 1 to 3 weeks previously; their husbands having been found healthy upon
examination.
The disease was diagnosed within the perianal region, at different grades of
extension, upon 28 passive pederasts.
In 12 patients having penial lesions and hetorosexual habits, the interrogatory
disclosed that their last contact had been with homosexuals.
Five individuals having discrete granulomatous lesions, who had been practising
frequent normal coition with their habitual mates, did not infect them until and by reason of
their becoming pregnant, they did resort to abnormal intercourse.
In 13 patients over 50 years of age, upon whom the disease had been in evolution
from 6 months to 2 years, it was verified the association of epitheliomas of the spinocellular
type.
Solely once was it observed, the systemic dissemination of the disease in a woman
of about 50 years of age who died, notwithstanding the diverse and intense therapy used.
In 6 prostitutes, Donovania granulomatis was evidenced on material taken from
the apparent normal cervix of the uterus, which leads to the impression that some women
would play the role of carriers apparently healthy.
Intent failed to transmit the disease to 4 veteran prostitutes of ages between 40 and
42 years.
