EL HS 592 POR VIA INTRAVENOSA

Resumen

Se ha ensayado el nuevo antihistamínico HS 592 en forma
inyectable en 26 pacientes con urticaria aguda y edema
angioneurótico, con el objeto de evaluar su rapidez de acción por vía
intravenosa al aliviar o hacer desaparecer los signos y síntomas de
estas afecciones alérgicas.
En forma de tablas se resumen las características del ensayo,
incluyendo la edad, sexo, afección tratada, los grados de mejoría en
los distintos momentos de observación y los resultados obtenidos.
Es de señalar que en ningún paciente hubo efectos colaterales
indeseables atribuibles a la administración intravenosa de la droga.
SUMMARY
The parenteral (intravenous) administration of the Sandoz
antihistaminic HS 592 (Tavegyl) was assayed in 26 patients, 19 with
acute urticaria and 7 with angioneurotic edema.
The main purpose of this clinical assay was to record the time
elapsed after the injection an the aliviation or disappearence of signs
and syintoms in both allergic affections.

Results are presented in tables including age and sex of each
patient.
That most patients benefited after the injection may be
interpreted as "dramatic", because the relief of itching and whales was
recorded in 5 to 30 minutes and complete disappearence at 4 hours.
Morever HS 592 can be equally active as the phenotiazine
antihistaminics without photosensibility hazards.
