CANDIDA ALBICANS COMO SAPROFITO DE LA MUCOSA LINGUAL

espués de una serie de consideraciones etiopatogénicas sobre la
presencia de Candida albicans como saprofito y como elemento patógeno en la
cavidad bucal, se presentan los resultados de una investigación hecha para
comprobar la presencia de este hongo y de otras levaduras sin identificar
en la mucosa de la lengua.
Se efectuaron cultivos de material obtenido del dorso lingual de 100
personas sanas pertenecientes a todas las esferas socioeconómicas,
encontrándose que este hongo se encuentra como comensal en esta región, en
un 16% de los casos, lo que coincide aproximadamente con las cifras
publicadas en otras latitudes.
Se hizo además un estudio análogo en pacientes con lengua geográfica y
lengua plegada, observándose que en estos casos, Candida albicans se
encuentra en un 22% y un 26% de los casos, respectivamente, en cambio las
levaduras no identificadas no aumentaron en proporción. Al final se hicieron
consideraciones respecto al significado patogénico de este aumento.

SUMMARY
After a series of etiophatogenic considerations on the presence of
Candida albicans as a saprophytic and pathogenic element in the oral cavity, the
results of an investigation -done to corroborate the presence of this fungus
and other yeast with out identifying in the mucosa of the tongue- are
presented.
Cultures were from material of the dorsum of the tongue of 100 healthy
persons from all the socio-economic levels, it was found that this fungus is
presented as comensal in this region in 16% of the cases; wich coincides
approximatly with the reportes in other latitudes.
A similar study was done on patients with geographic tongue and
fissured tongue; in those cases, Candida albicans was found in 22% and
26% respectively; on the other hand the yeast not identified did not
increase proportionatly. At the end, a series of considerations were done,
regarding the pathogenic significance of this increase.
